I have been chasing a noise in the front passenger suspension. It is a klunk when I go over bumps. What drives me crazy is it only happens when someone is riding in the back seat. My wife can feel the klunk in her foot on the footwell. It is closer to the transmission tunnel than the side. I am not sure that it is even the suspension.

car is a 71 cutlass convertible

Don't let anyone sit in the back seat... Odd klunks and things are hard to chase down. Look at the body mounts, trans mount, anything close to the frame or floor like exhaust.

 

Thanks I need a reason to keep my kids out of the car. I will crawl around underneath this weekend, it was to hot after the ride yesterday. Who knows maybe I will get lucky and it will be easy to find this time.
