Moog springs and KYB gas adjust shocks. They're both great, have used them on Oldsmobiles before, and currently on my 69.

P.S. your baby looks great, love the stance. Eggshell black paint would look absolutely badass on her.

A 455 is only around 60 pounds heavier than a same year 350, so the weight difference is not 100% the reason for the sagging front end. There are factory G-Body front springs that are a lot stiffer than “regular” springs and should be able to raise the front end and maintain a good ride quality.

Not off the top of my head, but i deal with Summit Racing Equipment. Dealt with them for years (decades). Good for all aspects of a transaction, including advice.

I think the rear jacked up is your problem. The front doesn't look overly low, but the rear is noticeably higher. Thats why you can partially see the exhaust system in the last picture. When you jack up the rear end, you shift weight from the rear springs to the front springs. This causes a car to ride like a "lumber wagon". You can spin the tires easier and you'll get left behind when the light turns green. I always got about one car length lead across and intersection against those jacked up rear cars.
Figure out why the rear is too high before you do anything.

Most G body springs, even v8 applications, are way too soft. Try some IROC springs. Problem is that they're being phased out of production.

If you're not happy with the way it sits in front changing the springs will help. Make sure you replace all of the ball joints, control arm bushings, stabilizer bar bushings, etc. while you're at it.

. Diesel and 455 are about the same weight . If you can get diesel f41 springs i think that wil suit the best the diesel and 455 are real close in weight.

Good point .

1979 Calais Coupe 260 CID Auto = 3373 LBS
1980 Calais Coupe 260 CID Auto = 3441 LBS
1980 Calais Coupe 5.7 Diesel Auto = 3624 LBS

Kapos, Moog doesn't seem to list the 350 Diesel front end springs, you may have to look in a different direction.

If you can swing it…I love these.
Easy as hell to put in and then you can adjust your ride height AND shock dampening.

I agree with Ralph. Look at the distance between the top of the tire and the wheel opening molding. I think you still need new springs in the front. After they are replaced, then evaluate the rear.

If you know the Moog number for the diesel springs being suggested, check Mevotech - they are another suspension company who uses the Moog part numbers to index their own springs - i.e. the Moog number would be the Mevotech number if Mevotech makes the same spring.

I know they have numerous springs that Moog no longer makes, I just installed a set of 6435 rear springs in my '72 ragtop and Moog discontinued them a while back.

You can also order custom springs from Eaton Spring. If you have a Moog part number, they can look up the specs to make new ones for you. They can also make them up to 2" lower if you want to customize the stance.

Another option is the Blazer brake upgrade but instead of factory blazer spindles, use a Belltech drop spindle with a little stiffer spring from a B-Body, non police package. That would give you about the same ride height without a concern of the headers banging on the ground every time you go over a bump.
