I am installing QA1 rear coilover shock on my 69 and have a problem. I have rear SSBC disc brakes and the coil over springs hit the caliper. I don’t see on QA1’s website that the A body coilover kits are just for drum brake installations, but it must be. Anyone have this problem and do you know if they make another brackets for the lower shock mount?

There are a multitude of A-body rear disk brake conversions, all different. There is no way for the coilover manufacturer to know if their parts will clear anything other than the stock brake configuration.
I'm always concerned if the body side of top shock mount will withstand the weight of the car.
Having broken a frame at the top rear shock mount using air shocks for towing, I share your concern, however the QA1 kit appears to have reinforced mounts to combat that exact problem.
Thanks, I’ll ask QA1 tomorrow. I too am/was worried about the top shock mount, but the bracket they provide is meaty and seems to spread the load out better - has an additional mounting hole you have to drill for.
So, Joe, or anyone else, I just added a wilwood disc brake conversion to the rolling stock (frame off restoration) on my 69 cutlass. Is there any spec or clearance number that I need to look at when I order coilovers, or do I just need to proceed by trial and error? Thanks in advance everybody!
