They should, the amount would be based on the difference in load rating of your current springs vs what you put in.

I'm looking at the heavy duty springs theres about a 2.5 inch difference between the ones on the car and what I want the guy I bought the car from said the rear was sagging so he put air shocks on it

Putting station wagon springs in coupes/sedans has been a tried and proved method of raising the rear of cars for decades. Give them a try just be advised that sometimes it may be more than what you expect.

You will be a happier person in the end if you pony up $100 and buy the correct set of Moog CargoCoils and install them.

The ride will be better, your ride height will be correct, and because of the CargoCoils' shorter uncompressed height, they will be a LOT easier to install.

The ease of installation is not an issue with the rears, the space is very accommodating.

Oh yes it is.

There is no space problem on A-bodies.

On fullsize cars, though, at least on '71-, the rear does not swing up and down far enough to easily accommodate the factory springs, which are thin, with a very long uncompressed height. You need to get in there with prybars and a sledgehammer to get them out, and getting them in is even more fun.

The CargoCoils just drop right in, though, just like the rear springs on an A-body.

x 2

The reason the PO put air shocks in is because the car is 30+ years old and the springs are all worn. Don't go overboard. Do the job 1 time and do it right.
