need some info
here is my question I had to purchase and new timing/fuel pump eccentric from mondello olds . the gave/recommended that I install spacers behind the cam and the crank pulley . it also came with instuctions that I had to machine down the bolt head (it has a stud ontop pic down below)
it had to between .005-.0010. at this time I cannot remember how much I did have it machined . the big problem is that it still has too much length so when I put the timing cover on it still does not clear. im going to put a straight edge on it and see if there is still room to machine it a little further.
my second question is (and for the life of my I cannot remember where it came from) but there is a brass cap(it slide on the end of the bolt)what iit is for and even if I do machine the bolt down the cap still wont clear . so my main question is what is the cap for and do I need it
bth_esentricboltandcap.jpg?t=1380308059 as u can see the cap rests on the bolt cap can I have the cap machined as well ?????
