OEM Carb Pad Height

What is the carb pad height [(A+B)/2] for the 350 4-bbl intake?

I dont know exactly how Edelbrock measures theirs but the 3711 Performer is exactly the same as the factory 307 manifold that was on my Wife's 84 Riviera. All of the factory parts bolted on and lined up perfect. Scroll down to Edelbrocks specs:

Bill, that's exactly the swap I would be making. I don't have any room for a taller intake, so I'd like complete assurance on the carb pad height.

If you still have the OEM manifold and are willing to measure it, I'll give you the instructions.

I do have the original at the shop. The only reason I went with the Edelbrock was the original iron manifold was much larger on the bottom and would not clear the Crane hydraulic roller lifters. When I put the car back together everything fit perfect under the hood and the Riviera is pretty tight to begin with I am going to be measuring the Edelbrock this weekend anyway because I am building a stroker that is also going in a Riviera and customer has a Performer RPM that has been modified with injector bungs etc and I think it is going to be really pushing it as far as height. I am going to base my measurements off the thermostat housing mounting area. As far as I know that is the same on all of the manifolds. Let me know what you want me to measure and i will gladly do it. I wont be back in the shop till Monday.

Happy New Year

Bill,

Put a straightedge on the carb pad.

Measure from the front seal surface of the manifold to the straightedge (this is Dimension "A").

Measure from the rear seal surface to the straightedge (this is Dimension "B").

The carb pad mounting height is the average of "A' and "B".

Thank you. And you enjoy your New Year as well!

this is the 3711 dimensions from Edelbrock . It’s stock factory carb pad height according to them

I finally got around to measure the stock manifold. It is 2.630 and 3.900 which gives a pad hgt of 3.265 which is actually a little higher than the Edelbrock says. Its kind of hard to get a good measurement on one end. Ill double check it tomorrow.
