have a 70 350 with w31 cam and #1 heads, all i have found on number one heads were they had rocker shafts and were made for a year or two. Anybody have any info?

 

Sounds like they are from a 1964 Olds 330

 

Not "sounds like", they ARE from a 1964 330. That was the only application for the #1 heads, and even those were phased out late in the model year for #2 heads with the traditional Olds rockers. The shafts were a "that's the way we've always done it" design decision for the original 330 motors since all the first gen Rocket V8s were built that way.
