110 mph could give high 11s to 12-flat sec. e.t. with the car fully scienced out, using today's technology.

Since I'm only about 5 miles from 66, I've been going there, but had been going to the Grove since 1966 - Broadway Bob knows me by name, but he's gone!
Probably get my godson's '69 Cutlass up there this year - keeps f'n with the 494 Rocket Racing machined for him!
Just got his E-brock air-gap, now wants another QF carb!
His car, his money, and I can't talk him into making a pass to get a baseline before changes.
Keeps doing 'research' on the internet for the 'best way'!

Rickman, did you recommend that he talk about a combination with John (Rocket)? Geez, get out there and make passes! (like you said). Guys like Sam Murray, Jim Kaekel can run 10s with a Qjet on a stock Olds intake! Even an inept driver (me) has run 11s with an iron intake (3x2) and Rochesters, at Vegas (2100 ft actual, bad air makes the effective elevation go up from there). I run the little Holley red fuel pump.

The MPH question was my 65 2-dr wagon w/396, 400 + 3:55's - late 70's!
Crower, 780, torquer and bowl-blended oval ports.

Nephew's car is a 69 Cutlass S, 494, 400 + 3:55's.
He on the 'other' board, reads it all, and comes up with his own ideas!
Yeah, he talks to John, and thinks he can do better! His favorite saying is;
'the guys at ROP say' - like I said - it's his car!
He's very undeceisive;
I want to tow it, in case I blow it up!
My P/U won't tow it, even if I rent a trailer!
Too far to drive @ 10 MPG!
Want to try _______ before I go up!
Want to change _______ first!
Got bias-ply tires - want to change to radials!

Neverending!!
But he's slowly running out of excuses!

@rickman48 tuning and tuning and more yuning will lead to a good tune street or strip i spent a month tuning my combo it ran a 13.3 with a small 600 cfm carb and it was a very tight budget whole engine carb to oil pan 2800 bucks . i can drive it anywhere load it on the trailer and run 13.3 with out turning a wrench. tuning at the track will yeild optimum performance but you usually kill some street manners. luckily at work we have a half mile straigh away alley so i would stay late do some tunning and see how it felt. This year im trying some new things hopefully we can put a 12.9 something on the board . Im not about going fast with more im more about how fast i can go with as little money as possible this makes for some intresting stuff and good times .
