Where to find 1/2 inch head bolts with the studs for the AC bracket

Hey Folks,

I am trying to swap a fresh built 403 in place of my stock 350 and the engine is missing the stud type head bolts on the passenger side that are there for the AC bracket. My search-fu is not working so I'm not finding where I can buy these specific stud bolts. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. Also learning the correct technical name for such a bolt would be great too.

Leaving the as delivered head bolts in place I could switch to a March serpentine set up but that would be a very expensive route to a fix not to mention having to switch to a electric fuel pump.

Thank you,

ttg

Thanks. Spoke with him and he only sells sets so I guess that's the way I'll have to solve it.

Any 307 has these bolts.

How many do you need. I have 2 on my 400 motor and only use 1. Trade ya!

Randy, unless your 400 has been changed I think your bolts are a different size.

ttg, unless your in a hurry you might post a parts wanted thread to see if you can find a single rather than spring for a set. I'm pretty sure I've got some from a 403, but may have to dig around to find them. Other members may have one they could easily lay their hands on. If your project can wait a few days I'd encourage you to create a parts wanted thread to see what gets offered.

Correct. All 1964-1976 motors use 7/16" head bolts. All 1977-1990 motors use 1/2" head bolts. Any 1977-1990 Olds motor is a suitable donor.

But, just to clarify, not all '77-'90 motors have these exact "stud" head bolts - whether the particular engine has them will depend on the application and accessories.

I just came across the short one, lower right hand corner photo of the ebay auction. Is that the one you need or the longer one?
