Cooling Olds 350. Radiator options

Switched Omega from v6 Buick engine to Olds 350. I have the v6 radiator and shroud. Can I still use these for the Olds 350 or should I switch to bigger radiator. If so, any recommendations? Will I have any issues with bigger radiator fitting?

I'm not sure of the water neck and lower hose connections between the v6 and the 350. If the same I'd surely give it try and see if the radiator works before going through the expense of upgrading.

In the end, you'll probably need more radiator, but I really don't know anything about X-body radiators.

If I go bigger, do I need an x-body radiator? Would I need to replace any parts to make work?

Radiator, radiator top plate, fan shroud

Can I use the radiator, radiator top plate, & fan shroud out of a 78-88 cutlass with a v8 for my Omega to replace the v6 stuff?

I really have no idea, as I know nothing about post-'72 Cutlii or about X-bodies of any year.

Sorry.

Perhaps in addition to Classic Olds, try at www.gbodyforum.com, might find some helpful insight there.

Measure the width and height of the rad. I believe Summit has aluminum replacements for the X body. I believe the G body size is 28 w x 18.5 t. I plan on upgrading to Griffin Dominator series, should much better than my current Champion.

Unable to answer the question specifically but in general, if the radiator that was in the car is a single row it will not provide enough cooling. Open the cap and look inside to see if it is clean and count the rows. If it is a two row, is clean and was an A/C equipped car it may work if you are not using the A/C on the new set-up and are not in a hot climate.

Is the replacement engine a stock 350? What year, model, etc.?

As for the shroud my guess is that it will be too long as the engine removed was shorter. The shroud is important and should be in place so that air is drawn across all of the radiator cooling fins.

Finding a radiator that will work well should be relatively easy just go by the measurements. When measuring look for factory mountings that would allow a larger radiator by putting the rubber "feet" in a different location.

Was there a factory SBC V8 option for these? If yes that would be a start for dimensions.
