What is a good cleaner for a intake manifold..

Wanted to clean a use intake with about 1000 miles and wanted to give it a good cleaning. It has a good amount of carbon build up. Thanks!

I had a local machine shop hot tank one for me recently, only cost $20 and it came out like new. Maybe more than you are looking for, but certainly seemed to be worth the money..

If you are doing a cast iron one, buy some EZ Off oven cleaner, spray it down good, let it dry, and take it to your local coin car wash. High pressure and the EZ Off will clean it just as well.

Machine shop blast clean costs me 40-50 here.
Looks like brand new cast iron inside and out.
I do this before converting to '69 H/O intake.

I took it to a machine shop and they soda blast it to be painted. Cost was $35.

Ask permission first. I tried using one to clean out a tranny case ... I asked first and discovered that had I done it, I'd be paying for a hazardous waste clean up. Yep, even though they allow people to clean off all manner of road dirt ... the moment you 'deliberately' expose motor chemicals to the drain, you're in trouble. Your mileage may vary, but I recommend erring on the side of caution.
