I have a 1971 442 non W-30 car. Can someone tell me if the intake manifold should be aluminum or cast?

And can someone also tell me the correct color of the air cleaner?

Non W-30 cars got a cast iron intake and the air cleaners were black.

David, If you haven't yet I'd suggest you create a parts wanted ad and include your location. I have a 1971 4bbl 455 intake in Oregon but shipping very far could add a lot to the price. If you could find one close by you could save those shipping $$ John

 

Do you need an air cleaner or did you just need to know the color? The "NH" dual snorkel is correct for your 1971. These will usually set you back about $200-$250 since they're relatively tough to find. If you need one, I may have a lead for you if it hasn't sold.
