An Olds mechanic noticed a bracket on my Rochester quadrajet that isn't usually found on a 1970 Cutlass. Anyone know exactly what purpose this bracket serves?

If cruise control on a '70 is like that on a '69, the bracket doesn't have anything to do with it. My '69 has factory cruise control and that bracket is not there. Have you confirmed that the carburetor is indeed a 1970 model year production carb?

Interesting; thanks Bluevista. ![Cool](https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums/images/smilies/cool.gif)
You've peaked my curiosity even further. Do you (or anyone else) know if GM offered a vacuum powered air horn generator in the early 70's? If not i wonder if it was for an aftermarket generator for a different time period.
Incidently, the carb is stamped as 7040250 with a date code inline with the car build date.
