Tuning a Rochester 4GC
Hi, for those of you who know me, I'm younger, and don't really have anyone who taught me how to work on cars, so what I know I learned on my own. I'm looking for pointers and tips on tuning the Rochester 4 barrel on my 215 V8. It doesn't seem to be running just right, I think I need to adjust the mixture but i don't know how to tell what exactly to do. It is also Idling unusually high, around 1500, but when in drive(its an automatic) will sit at 6-700. So i was wondering how to go about getting the mixture just right and any hints on how to get the idle right.
Thanks

The idle screw is on the drivers side...try turning it clockwise to see if it makes a difference...how long has it been idling so high? Is the choke stuck open? does the idle go down once its hot?...how are the plugs and points? Need more info to make suggestions...lots of things could be going on...

Just changed plugs and checked points. Don't remember how long its been idling so high, but the choke actually, the choke was sticking a while back, that could be the problem. thanks.
