Trans Am rear end in a Omega

Ha s any body put a Trans Am rear end in Omega and if so what changes had to be made?

I did...kinda.
I used the guts from a 79 TA to fit in a 74 Omega. Just the ring and pinion, it had a 3.73 posi.
It was a 28 spline posi so it fit with my axles.
The actual rear end was wider and I would have had to move the spring perches and I am not sure if the tires would have rubbed on the fenders so I found it easier to use my case and axles with the TA gears.

Keep in mind that the 73-74 Omegas (and 68-74 X-body cars) are based on the first gen (67-69) F-body. The 75-79 X-cars are based on the second gen 70-81 F-body. I tried to check axle width and unfortunately the info on the web is frequently conflicting. I'd trust my own tape measure first.
