Thrust bearing crush

Trying to get to the final assembly of my 403, and noticed that the #3 bearing shell has no crush in the cap. It'll just fall right out.
How bad is this? The shell stays tight when the cap is torqued down, but I haven't measured the eccentricity yet.

don't put it together that way!! there is either a problem with the bearing shell or the main cap. that thing will spin instantly!!!
