Throttle linkage problem

I have a 71 Cutlass Supreme set up as a 442 replica. Currently I still have the original 350 in it but most everything else has been upgraded. TH400 transmission, duel gate Hurst shifter, true duel exhaust, etc. The original Q-Jet carb has been acting up and it was time to move to something with an electric choke. I installed the Edelbrock 1406 600CFM 4-barrel carb and ran into a problem when I went to hook up the throttle linkage. As you can see in the picture, this carb is not setup to receive the ½” round cable like the Q-Jet did. For the time being, I have rigged it up with a ½ bolt that I drilled a hole in and put a cotter pin through to connect the two. Works great but looks awful. Short of replacing the throttle cable to fit the provided ball for GM applications, does anyone know of an adaptor meant for this type of throttle linkage?

Maybe a chrome 1/2" bolt?

You can get kits at the auto parts store with throttle linkage adapters. The best bet would be to get a new throttle cable kit. I installed on recently on my 71 Olds in an hour or so.

Chrome bolt...that's what I used!

I agree Olds64, I think a whole new cable is what I am going to have to do. I still have to put in a kickdown switch on so the job wasn't done anyways. When they put in the new TH400 tranny, nobody decided to install the switch. Going to be more fun when that is hooked up!
