Sport comp water temp and intake question

Can this be fixed? Picture attached

The black broken wire to the right is the line from the water temp gauge

If that's a mechanical temp gauge, no it cannot be fixed (at least not easily or cost-effectively. Mechanical temp gauges use an expanding fluid stored in the sensing bulb to operate the gauge. It's not a wire, it's a very small tube and once it breaks the fluid leaks out. Get a new gauge.

If it's a wire, then all you need is a new sending unit and a terminal.

Despite the electric sending unit in the intake, the "wire" in the photo above appears to be the tube for a mechanical gauge. Note the extremely thick plastic cover, which is typical of that used on mechanical gauges. Also, that would be VERY thick solid copper wire if it were, in fact, a wire. I've got $10 that says it isn't.
