Something missing on my carb?

The pic is a little fuzzy but it appears that there might be a linkage or something missing on my carb. Rochester quadrajet. I know there is a screw missing in the top circle. The bottom circle looks like maybe there should be some linkage or something there connecting to that vacuum pod.

it looks like you have everything you need. the air valve dampening is accomplished by the rear vacuum break on your model of qj, other models use the front vacuum break for this, typically. to be sure of this, i would need your model number and a pic of that whole side of the carb.

I'll take more pics tonight and get the #'s. I just thought maybe that screw was supposed to push against something. Also there appeared to be a hole for a linkage on that same lever. So there are two vacuum pods that do the same thing? It does have the rear vacuum pod on it.

Not sure what that is off, but I think it is a later model Chevrolet carb. Without looking in my Rochester manuals I don't know for sure, but I'm pretty sure the 213 is a manual transmission Chevy. Have you had it apart to check the jets and metering rods?

the missing screw is just one of the mounting screws for the primary vacuum break.
you have a primary and secondary vacuum break on your carb. the primary opens the choke valve to a specified amount, to allow the engine to run when it starts, the secondary vacuum break opens the choke valve a little bit further(spec.) after the engine is running to reduce exhaust emissions when cold, and to dampen the opening of the secondary air valves.

1708213 is a 1980 chebby 350(5.7l) truck c/k 20/30, g30, p20/30 conv. tr. hd all transmissions application
i can supply further specs. if needed

Yeah I was told a 80 chevy truck so that sounds right. Now I understand the two vacuum pods, thanks. So a mounting screw is all that's missing. Good news.

I have not had it apart. I'm assuming it's stock. I was told it was recently rebuilt before I bought it. I have it on a stock 72 350 with a performer intake.

Isn't that rubber line you're using for the hot air choke going to burn off?
