RPM performer hood clearance '71

I want to run a RPM performer in my 1971 Cutlass but I want to make sure I got 6.5 inch clearance from the top of the intake to the hood.
I know that some of you guys run stock air filterhousings on top of there RPM's but I need to know that I got 6.5 inch clearance....

please let me know. Many thanks, Ramon

Sounds like you need to make some measurements as that is the only way you will know how much clearance there is on YOUR vehicle.

I run the rpm a half inch spacer A NON drop based air cleaner with a 3 inch open element air fileter and the wing nut just scrapes the hood barely. The drop base will significantly add clearance. I think the stock air cleaner hangs down a bit more that the typical open element bases but you will need an adapter on a holley.
