Replacing timing chain 59 371

I am working on replacing the timing chain and gears on a 59 371. The gasket sets i have seen dont include the oil pan ? It looks like the timing cover bolts to the front of the pan ? Also looks like the fuel pump bolts to the timing cover ? Anyone perform this “fun” project and provide some guidance to a novice with a few skinned knuckles ? I am a bit confused about this and getting the harmonic balancer off. Also how do i align the gears to the correct orientation ? Sorry lots of questions.

My recommendation would be to go to ebay and buy a factory service manual. It really should be the first thing you buy when you get an old car. Here is one for $14.95 which is an excellent buy.

You will be glad you did. It is the bible for an old car. When I buy an old car, it is the first thing I buy. They have saved me lots of times. Good luck on your timing chain.
