power steering pulley alignment

power steering pulley alignment
Ok I have used the search function and read some good posts about brackets and spacing of the power steering pump. I am experiencing a misalignment of my power steering pulley. It's a 2 groove pulley I have all of the correct spacers in place but the pulley seems to be sitting too far back by about half of a groove. Is there a spacer that goes behind the pulley that I may have misplaced? I can't adjust the brackets because the bolts line up and dont have enough tolerance to move that far either. Is their a difference between pumps or pulleys between AC and non AC? This is my first olds build and these brackets are kicking my butt. Any help, tips or comments will be greatly appreciated

If you have TWO round spacers, like thick washers, on two of the mounting bolts (exhaust manifold and "extra front motor mount" hole), then you've got them all.
This question implies that you have mixed pulleys.
That's illegal in the South .
But seriously:
There are a variety of different pulley configurations, depending mostly on year and options (A/C, P/S, HD cooling, etc.). You MUST use ALL of the pulleys from ONE engine together in oder for them to work together (yes, there are ways to mix them, but getting that to work is basically just luck).
If you've got pulleys on there that came from different cars or engines, you'll need to swap around until all of the pulleys came from one place.

Let us know what you have (picture looks like a '68 or '69 Cutlass?) plus what its options are (power steering, A/C, heavy duty cooling) and someone here should be able to tell you the pulleys needed for your configuration.
