PCV hitting rocker
Hello everyone,
Just finished the overhaul on my 350. I have a set of aftermarket valve covers on it, just basic chrome jobs. I知 noticing my PCV when installed is hitting the top of the rocker. Has anyone else experienced this?

Here here is a pic. My breather is just a push in. You can see PCV on the other side. I believe the issue is the PCV itself. I think with these covers I need the 90 degree valve with a flat bottom where what I have is a valve that has an extra nipple on the bottom. Here is what I知 thinking is the issue...

Apparently your video is just a picture. If I understand you correctly, you have the bottom pictured pcv (which is an inline type) stuffed into the grommet with no baffle and the end is hitting a rocker arm? If that is the case, yes go get a 90* like middle pic and use the other valve cover that should have a baffle and move the breather to where the pcv is now.

Your problem is that you have aftermarket valve covers with some random location of the PCV hole. The factory valve covers located the PCV BETWEEN the rockers so there would be no chance of contact. Do you have stock rockers or aftermarket?

Yeah the picture if motor is a screenshot on my phone. I figured the issue was with valve covers not having the hole centered. I知 going to pick up a set eventually and put the factory PCV and breather setup on. I値l get the 90* until then. Thanks for the help guys. Just for record they池e stock rocker/bridge assembly. The valve covers are the ones already on engine when i bought so I used them

^^^What Eric said^^^ PCVs are specific to the application not only in the shape and size but also in the internal spring/seat/valve pressure. Get it wrong and it wont idle right or the PCV wont remove the blow by.

And in addition to the details already stated, get the correctly shapped Oldsmobile PCV Grommet for your rocker cover too.
