Olds delta 307 bubbles in overflow tank and losing coolant

Hello

I recently changed my coolant because I had to get my radiator fixed. At the same time I replaced my edel carb with Q-jet but it has nothing to do with this. My engine is 307 with 7a heads and aluminium intake. I have 7 lbs radiator cap, it's new and tested.

Problem is, im now losing coolant. I've been driven about 550 kilometers in one week and I had to add 1.5 litres of coolant into engine. Car doesn't leave any coolant stains on the floor, so this possible leak must be internal?

I just don't have any idea where coolant could dissappear. My engine doesn't make thick white smoke when running, just normal steam(I use 50/50 antifreeze/water mix). My oil smells and looks normal. Previous owners has replaced intake gasket and used loctite in critical points, so it wont leak. I had a leak in heater core but I replaced it. My car doesn't overheat. Original thermometer (I know, I should instal good mechanical one...) says Im running about 190-220F. I has been like that since I bought this car and those original electrical meters aren't most precise ones...

Engine runs great and has good torque and power.

How long it can take to have all air gone away from cooling system? Can I help my car to remove all air from system with tricks like lifting front of the car up?

Do you have a coolant smell from the exhaust?
Bubbles in the reservoir are a strong indicator of either intake manifold or head gasket leaks. There are several passages in a head gasket that connect coolant to the cylinders. Other passages connect oil to coolant. Still other passages lead to outside of the engine.
A typical pressure test will not identify the leaks as described.

It is possible that you did not get all the air out of the system. Is there any coolant in your oil?

I don't have any exhaust smell in my coolant, my oil looks fine, no "milk-chocolade" in oil dip stick or inside valve covers. No coolant smell in exhaust and no white smoke.

I have had several cars with internal coolant loss and they all had exhaust smell in coolant or bad looking oil or they made lots of smoke. In my case coolant just dissappears. I just cant understand how and where it goes.

There is only 1 other place coolant can go, whats your transmission fluid look like? It has to show up somewhere.

X2 on trans fluid. If the trans cooler is leaking, the trans fluid and/or the coolant will be the color and consistency of mayonnaise.

Just a thought but wouldn't a 7 lb. cap let steam out the overflow
reservoir faster than say a 15 or 16 lb. cap?

After adding coolant couple of times, I didn't lose coolant anymore. Maybe it was just air coming out of the system.
