That timing sets should work. Get this set to seal it back up. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/FEL-CS8171-2 That nylon coated timing set is about the only reason an Olds 350 needs pulled apart after some miles and years. The timing cover can be a pain to put back in, the lower seal will need trimmed on the cover. Hopefully the Edelbrock carb will work OK, many have issues with them. It will no doubt be too rich for that motor.

 

I have replaced cam sprokle, crank sprokle and timing chain.

Mark on crank sprokle is on up. Do you know if the cam sprokle mark must be at down or up?

Cam mark up = TDC on #1 cylinder.

Cam mark down = TDC on #6 cylinder.

He would be wise to pull the oil pan to clean out all of the debris that will get drawn into the oil pump pick-up screen. I've seen it happen a number of times.

 

Before he puts it back together, he should drive out the broken oil fill tube while it is easy to access.

Oil fill tubes are easily removed by tapping all around with a rubber mallet.

 

I have never tried removing one but his is broken off nearly flush.

 

Access to the bottom of the oil fill tube is limited at best. I'd suggest a bearing puller hook on a slide hammer from the top.

At first I though you were talking about the dipstick tube. How the heck do you even break the oil fill tube like that???

 

I didn't notice that it was broken off flush.

for checking if oil pan are dirty, i'll relive it.

i notice the water pump have only one hose out.

the water tank is only plugged on the radiator. he is empty.

do you know if the water tank is usefull ?

 

according to another seville owner, there is only one out on water pump.

Now, engine start, rpm are lower then engine stop.
