Oil pressure sending unit too big

Just got my new AutoMeter gauges and my oil 100 pressure sending unit is huge, big enough that it won't fit behind the water pump location. Has anyone encountered this and what is the remedy...different sender?

Longer piece of pipe, or a 45° angle fitting.

I'm pretty sure they're cheaper at the corner hardware store.

I looked for one there but never found one. I just coughed up the 20 for one at the parts place, and it even fit without modification!

Who said you had to have brains to be a plumber.......

yep they make reproductions for it but you can also use the NPT fittings from the hardware store - either will work

Nothin' funky there - looks great!
Just what I was talking about.
If you really wanted to go nuts, you could always "customize" those fittings with a grinder.

X 2 !! Got to auto parts store and get those pipe fittings in BRASS! Makes a much better looking installation! Any NAPA store will have them!!

Home Depot and about $2.

I "T"ed mine because I kept the factory oil light. I used a 1/8 brass fitting from a fuel gauge pod that I had laying around. A double ended (like a striaght pipe with threads) 1/8 male fitting and a 1/8 T fitting.

USE TEFLON TAPE!!!
