Oil pressure sending unit

Does anyone have a picture of an original sender (Cadmium plated, 'bell' style for guages). I want to replace mine because it's a Black replacement one. It works fine but I want a nice plated one. There are plenty available but they are all slightly different is various ways and I'm not sure which is correct. Some resto companies actually state in their description that it is "close to" or "slightly different" in appearance so I need to see and OEM one. TIA

i will try to post a picture of an original one off of a 72 W-30 later. i don't know what all years were the same as far as looks go. i am told that there is not a single reproduction or aftermarket that is the same as the original one. i was offered $200 for this one a couple years ago... boy was i stupid for not selling it.

WOW! That means mine is correct!! Someone must have painted it Black over the years. I assumed it was a generic replacement due to the 'bolt-on' terminal. I wonder if I can strip mine and retain the original Cad plating. I doubt it. Now I'm not sure if it's better to have the correct part with incorrect finish or the correct finish on the incorrect part. Sorry, just thinking out loud while typing. I think I'll strip the one I have. Thanks so much for posting that!

mist it with gold spray paint, the cadmium after all these years is probably gone. the repos are very close to the originals they just do not have the squared off indent near the top for a wrench. So for those that know which is which it is obvious but most won't know the difference.

Expensive resto. places like Eastwood have "cad plate" spray paint that looks pretty close to the real thing, if you just have to have it cad.

Any idea when they were black vs cadmium, my car is a mid November 69 build and my sender looked like it was cadmium but there is no telling whether it was original or not.

Mmurphy77, I hope you don't mind me barging in on your thread with a question unrelated to yours.

That metal connector that is bent at 90 degrees and attached to the stud with nuts retaining it.
Does anyone know where I can get that metal 90 degree piece? I need one.

thank you

I wasn't aware of that. Maybe I should just leave it alone because it's the correct style and Black!
