Oil pressure range?

Hello fellas,
Been awhile, hope everyone is doing good. Finally put a oil pressure gauge in my Olds, I have a 350 rocket in my 70 Cutlass Supreme which was rebuild. Now that I actually have a gauge what is the operating range that I should be looking for? On start up I get 50-60psi once warmed really good after driving it a half hour or so it drops at idle (stop light ) to 25 -30 psi. Thats just at a stop but once I get moving again with higher rpms it goes back up to around 40. Is the 25 - 30 psi okay at a stop once oil is warmed up? Just wanna be sure. thanks.

You're fine, drive it. The general rule of thumb is a minimum of 10 psi per 1000 rpm. You are clearly well inside of these parameters.

Your numbers are right on the money. Keep on driving it.

Thanks Allen and Funkwagon, I sure plan on driving the ---- out of it. What about oil for flat tappet cams? I read other threads about the ZD---p content being low in oils now a days. I was planning on using the compcams additive with the oil, or that VR1 oil by itself that supposedly already has enough of the ZD--P in it. What do you think?

Yeah, I opened a can of worms on that topic a couple of weeks ago. You can buy specially formulated oil or additives for flat tappet lifters. Me?

I decided to add either CD2 (4000ppm of ZDDP), STP red (4 cyl - 1800ppm ZDDP if you can find it) ZDDPlus (avail NAPA, Eastwoods etc) or Slick 50. That stuff is more slippery than a pinch of penguin sh*t on an iceberg.
