Mid-range Newbie!

Hey guys! I just had a dream come true- a car I've always wanted. A 1939 Oldsmobile 70 (Series never mattered). Got a good deal on it, and thought I'd say howdy!

It's had one paint job but is 99% original. I've been looking for YEARS but I had always found empty hulks, hotrods, or serious projects. I found this through a friend who's also into old cars, and saved my new car from a Dodge Hemi conversion. Apparently, the owner fried the original flathead 6, so I'm poking around out there to see if anyone may have one!

My intentions are to keep this car original and fix things up as factory, including the harness which is a nightmare! I don't care! I've restored cars and scooters!

As far as "custom" or personalized things I'm going to do to it, I've put a sticker in the window. An "A cart" gasoline ration decal. That's about as crazy as I'm going to go.

Thanks!
Chris

Thanks guys! I think I downloaded a few pix from when we picked it up and how it looks. Some weirdness going on, but I'll figure it out! Like how the hood latches! Seems to be two different ways of locking it down. Otherwise, I love it!

Never owned another GM except my dads old Cutlass Sierra, and that poor junker kept getting stolen! WHY? It was nothing to look at! HAHA!

Glad to see one going back to stock.I love the fat fender Olds of that era. You might try the HAMB for parts as most of their members are going the opposite direction and engines and transmissions are left overs.....Tedd
