The Range
I thought I'd start a nice lil topic to discuss our many firearms we have or have shot. Here we can debate, discuss, and drool over the many firearms there are in this world.
I'll start off with my trip to the range today.
Weapons fired:
.357 magnum
.303 Lee Enfield
30-06 M1917 Winchester
9mm Beretta
M1853 Enfield (aka the common foot soldier's weapon in the civil war)
The M1853 is mine, my friend brought out the M1917 we've been restoring, and his great uncle brought the rest.
As usual, my M1853 is a blast to shoot. My hands are pitch black from the black powder though.
The lee enfield and the winchester were tons of fun as well, but nothing can compare to the smooth but macho recoil of the .357....well nothing there anyways. The 9mm..... well lets just ignore that one
I would love to own all of the guns above, but the gun I dream about owning is the .454 Casull. That thing is beastlier than the Desert Eagle!
I'll start off with my trip to the range today.

Nice collection!
To add to my 1853 I have an 870 express remington shotgun. My father has another 1853 and my brother has another 870.

I think most of the people on here will go with the "don't ask don't tell" idea.
I have to say that is my view. Although, I like your idea of getting a permit.
Now that I think about it, there was another thread about this same subject.
"As our enemies have found we can reason like men, so now let us show them we can fight like men also."

870 Wingmaster
1022
I'm not much into hunting anymore. the 870 is just for someone that comes through my door that is not to be here. the 1022 is for animals that are not to be in the garden.

Eh true. Though with my hobby and how high profile it is everyone knows I have guns.
You know, the way I look at it, guns should be stored in a pretty solid safe. The kind that takes days to get into.
A guy who you'd never expect to have guns, never socializes and never has people at his house recently had his walk in safe mutilated in an attempt to break into it. No one knew he had guns except himself yet word still got out.
He had pansershreks, MG42s, MG34s, .30 and .50 calibres, an M240 and a bunch of heavy weapons sitting in there. The thieves tried for days to break in (he was on vacation) and they never got into it.
On the other hand, I am very open about my firearms (well.... some of them...) and I have never had an attempt.
Moral of the story: Always keep your guns locked very tightly. In robbery-proof safes. If someone tries to get your guns they'll find an exasperating surprise.
