Ok guys,
When I was taking the 307 engine apart for my Wife's Riviera, put it on the engine stand then the first thing I did was pull the intake. Then my helper and I flipped the engine over to pull the pan. When we flipped it over the part in the picture fell down into my oil catch tray. Neither one of us really payed a lot of attention to the lifter area but it must have been sitting there after we pulled the intake.


It looks like some type of check valve and I would say probably from the cooling system because it appears to be brass. I have looked through every part diagram in the factory parts book but just cannot find anything that it might be.


So..... has anyone seen this part before ?
