Molded Heater Hose Water Pump to Heater Question

I purchased the molded Heater hose, Water Pump to Heater, for 1969 Oldsmobile with AC from OPGI in preparation for redoing the cooling system.

Long story short, took me a while to get to the project past the return window, and I can't see how this hose is useful or needed? It doesn't look like it would fit any better than a normal "by the foot" 5/8 hose.

Can anyone post of picture of where this get used, or is OPGI wrong in their listing?

I'm happy to sell this to anyone who might need it.

Thanks!

That should be the hose that runs from the heater control valve on the intake to the heater inlet barb. The PIM shows the bend goes at the heater core end to avoid a kink in the hose where it is clamped to the HVAC box. Do you need the molded hose? Probably not. Your call.

Thanks Joe!

That picture helps more than the CSM diagram. The bent part is not very long so I couldn't tell the purpose - now I see that is the part to tuck up against the heater box.

It's not needed versus regular tubing.
