Modulator Tube Connection

In my assembly manual it doesnt show where the Trans modulator tube connects on the engine. Does it connect to the vacuum port on the front of the carb? The manual says the connection is spelled out in an engine assembly manual? 1972 Olds 350/350.

The modulator needs manifold or full vacuum to operate correctly. Any port that can supply this will work.

I've had two 1970 A-bodies with automatic transmission.

On those, the transmission vacuum was taken from a brass fitting on top of a manifold runner ahead of the carb.

Could you share those pages until I get a Service Manual?

In the assembly manual it shows a vacuum line going from the top of the vacuum distribution valve to the T connected to the manifold. On my car the hose coming from the top was connected to the carb port. What does the port on the top do different than the 3 ports on the side? I guess I dont understand what the valve does as the assembly manual shows a line form the top of the valve going into the T that is connected to the manifold and then a line off the T to the bottom port on the valve?
