69 Cutlass S 350 vacuum line routing
69 Cutlass S 350 vacuum line routing
I had a compete rebuild done on my original 1969 cutlass 350. I upgraded it to a Holley 4BBL with manual choke and an MSD electronic ignition. With those upgrades what else needs a vacuum hose run to it and is there anywhere on the internet that might have a diagram? I bought the assembly manual from Fusick but the print job on the manual makes it very hard to read.
Kinda depends upon the particular setup:
Power brakes?
AC?
Automatic transmission?
Factory air cleaner?
Vacuum advance can on distributor?
There are vacuum lines for the above items, but if you don’t have those, then there wouldn’t be vacuum hoses for them.

The vacuum line routing question comes up a lot. Since you have an aftermarket carb, you obviously don't care about it looking original, only that it functions correctly. Common sense will guide you.
There are only two vacuum sources that you need to worry about, straight manifold vacuum and ported vacuum. If you are running your distributor advance on ported vacuum, then you need to use that port. If not, it goes to manifold vacuum. That's a function of your engine combo and the advance curve you have baked into your distributor.
EVERYTHING else runs from straight manifold vacuum, which is found on any port that is tapped into an intake runner. Power brakes? Manifold vacuum. Automatic trans modulator? Same. A/C vacuum source? Also manifold vac. Cruise control, power trunk release, etc, etc.? Again, manifold vacuum.
This isn't rocket science.
