Looking to get a new carb

I am working on my 67' Cutlass Supreme.
I have rebuilt the top end, and am looking at replacing my old carb rather than rebuilding it - I believe the car was originally the high compression, 2 barrel carbed 330. However, it came with a quadrajet which had the circular stamp removed. I think it was originally a 2 barrel as the old pushrods did not have a blue line on them.
I was curious, since the carb is not original, and is in pretty rough shape - I would like to find a performance carburetor to go ahead and work well with the modifications I have made.
I have very lightly polished and ported my heads. VERY lightly.
I also have a new cam, slightly higher duration than stock but a slightly lower lift. Along with the cam I have new 8.5" pushrods (~2% longer than stock) as well as new hydraulic lifters and 1.6 ratio rocker arms. I have replaced the air breather/filter with a "performance" brand, and intend to replace the intake manifold sometime in the future. Besides those modifications, it has the A/C system removed, as well as upgraded distributor, ignition, and timing gear set (now a double roller).
Could anyone recommend a decent aftermarket carb which won't break the bank which should work well with my current build as well as with a performance intake?

Quick Fuel 600cfm "Slayer" series. Loaded with features and tunability and it won't break the bank.

I don't mean to sound stupid but what do you have for an intake on this engine now. I'm guessing you have a stock Q-Jet manifold and if so I'd look at 650 vacuum sec. Holley, Holley does make a replacement carb for that set up which is not a direct replacement but pretty simple to change over, I have used these on several engines over the years or you can change to an after market manifold with a 9834 Holley.

Right now the intake on it should be the stock intake, stamped 344741-3 if I recall correctly.
Thanks for the recommendations you guys.

Street Demon 625, based off the Thermoquad but all news castings with the problem areas fixed. It will bolt right to your Qjet manifold.

I appreciate the input. I do believe I am going to go with the Quickfuel 600 cfm "Slayer" based upon various reviews and the recommendation - provided I can find a mechanically controlled one.
All I was able to find through their website and the regular company I order through was electronically controlled, it seemed.

They don't make the Slayer in a mechanical secondary. You don't want that anyway with your combo.

Ah, I think I am confused. I knew I wanted a vacuum secondary, but I see that it has an electric choke, and I thought I saw some photos where it looked like the throttle control was electrically controlled as well - but now that I revisit their site it appears I may be mistaken (at least about the throttle control).
Will an electric choke be fine then?
