...should I put lead additive in this engine. Its had work done to it but I think the heads are stock I think they have the #8 on them without going to look. The guy I bought it from said it came out of a 72 I dont know how to find out if he is right.

#8 Heads have hardend seats so you shouldn't have to put lead additive in the tank.

However I have heard the valve seats are strong enough for pre 72 motors to not even need lead additive. Maybe someone else can chime in...

 

If the iron is as high of a nickel as the block I could believe that...
