Hide Idle

We have a 350 olds that had the heads rebuilt and then we installed back with all new gaskets. The carb and timing was not changed just put back on the engine. We just started it up and checking for any leaks. Need to replace one heater hose and install new thermostat and gasket. We installed new plugs, PVC, and fuel filter. When running it after this we noticed the idle being high. What things do we need to check?

Thanks

Is the choke releasing when it's warmed up? If you had the distributor out, I assure you the timing changed. Why not go thru it and double check your tune up specs.

In addition to the above, I would check for vacuum leaks.

would the vacuum leaks cause the car to be really loud? We are going to check timing and make sure to original specs. Thanks

I don't understand the "really loud" question?

I'd check timing first and then vacuum leaks, since we know the distributor has been moved.
