Help With Cam Selection

Need some advice on a good camshaft for my Olds:

'78 Cutlass Supreme 2D
'69 Olds 355, #5's, 9.8:1 CR (fresh quality rebuild)
'70 Olds Qjet carb #7040250 (Sparky redo)
built 700R4 auto OD trans w/2500 stall
8.5 posi rear w/373's

The car is used for cruising & street light to street fun. It doesn't have AC yet, but it will in the future, since I live in S. FLA. I was thinking about Edelbrock's Performer Plus PN 3712 - 204/214...Your input's greatly appreciated!

I can grind you one and deliver it right to you!

That 204/214 is too small and a bit lazy for that compression imo. But depending on your intake and exhaust I probably do something around a 220/228 at .050 on a 110 with .504 lift. Would work well with your combo and you'll hear it to.

Thanks
Mark

Mark,
I'm game! Right now, I have a Performer intake...Yeah, thought about getting something custom with a tighter LSA...The one you recommended sounds dead on...Keep me posted. Thank you.

Will that grind's lift require me to change springs, since the motor was set up with a W-31 camshaft (the motor was just broken in)?

Probably not but you'll need to verify what spring is in it. Most aftermarket springs are good to .500 lift or so.
