Heads
There is a difference in heat transfer but a lot of weight savings, like 40 pounds. Remember Olds did this factory on the 307 in the 80's. Supposedly back in the day, they leaked around 100K, talking daily drivers with a lot of heat cycles.
There are about a bazillion engines on the road with iron heads and aluminum intake, including every factory-built 1970 W-31 and 307s with A4 and A5 intakes. And since gaskets will likely come up, those factory aluminum intakes also used the metal turkey tray gasket.
