I am curious what kind of car you are planning on putting those on. If it has power steering, you probably can't even put duals on it. I tried that on my friends 54 after we added power steering and the left side is impossible. I had the guy at the muffler shop shaking his head. We put on Smitty on and split the tailpipe in front of the gas tank. Still sound pretty neat. Good luck.

Are you looking for manifolds or headers?

Originals would be cast iron manifolds, and should be available used. Aftermarket would be custom built from steel tubing. Odds of finding a pair, in decent condition, are somewhere between slim and none.

Try posting in the "parts wanted" section of the H. A. M. B. site.

And the 324 is not a "small block".

I don't know if the 324 ever had a dual exhaust manifold like the 394; however, that is something you need to look into. You should also go to a good exhaust shop and inquire about custom made headers. You won't be able to find aftermarket headers for that application.

Then why even post? They were common on Olds V8s, beginning in '49. That would include 324.

Yeah. Any good shop will whip up a set for a couple of hundred bucks or so.

Interesting statement. It implies that none exist.

One other note is if you are putting duals on one of the Oldsmobiles that originally had a 324 is that it has an X frame and you will have to cut two holes in the left side of the frame for the exhause pipe and tailpipe. The muffler will be in the middle of the X. Nothing a good muffler shop can't do. Unless you are really modifying the 324, headers would do little good anyway. Just my opinion.

Split exhaust on 324 olds

Split mine on my 55 convrtible. Not easy but sure doable.
No problem with the power steering but things got interesting around the gas tank, frame area.I used stock manifolds.
