Harmonic balancer bolt torque?

Anyone know a good way to hold the crank still while getting the bolt to 300 ft lbs? I'm thinking a clamp on the flywheel but I'm worried it might damage the flywheel or bearings.

I used a large screwdriver through one of the bolt holes in the flex plate, rotated the engine until the screwdriver was wedged against the block.

On a stick car, you can thread a bolt into an unused pressure plate bolt hole, from the engine side. You need "only" 160 ft-lb with the bolt threads oiled.

I use 2 long bolts with a shoulder and screw it all the way into harmonic balancer, leaving the shoulder exposed, and then I use a pry bar and stick it between the 2 bolts and let it wedge against the floor.

Drop the converter cover and use a tire iron to hold the flywheel. I have a friend that puts the car in gear, blocks the tires and then torques it.

Too bad you are not closer. I made a tool that bolts to the four pulley bolts and holds it from moving.
