Fuel Pump

Can anyone recommend a good replacement mechanical fuel pump for a 71 350 rocket?

Thank you,

Peter

Stock AC Delco replacement pump can't be beat...as long as it's not offshore junk. Look at Carter and Edelbrock as well. Just ask what its country of origin is and run from anything thats chineasium.

Sadly, most of the new AC Delco replacement parts are not US-made. This is why I stopped using AC oil filters. The quality went right in the toilet when production moved. NOS pumps, while higher quality, unfortunately use rubber parts that are not ethanol compatible.

Carter M6108 (no return line) or M6109 (with return line) are the standard pumps sold at most auto parts stores. Checker, O'Reilly, Advance, NAPA, Auto Zone are local sources to check.

if the cam eccentric is on the lobe where its pushing the arm down, you will know this when you remove it, disconnect coil wire and bump the starter so you can just put it in and install the bolts. no big deal.

Replacement went well, thank you for the help. Had to take all the AC components off to get to the pump but it wasn't that bad. About 50 lbs of crap I kept off but will keep. Runs so much better now.
