Just bought a set of used Thornton exhaust manifolds off Ebay. I'll be buying new Flowmasters (based on the video) later this month and putting everything on the car, hopefully by February. I'm thinking of going with a 2" inch pipes.

I had Super 40's on my old Delta. X pipe, cat back exhaust, and it sounded pretty good. I picked up 2 Super 44's on Jegs earlier this year becasue they were on sale. They will find their way onto the new Delta. soon
Those Super 44's will not be finding their way on my Delta so they are for sale.

Forget the part number, but they are offset/offset 2.5 in and out

I finally got the car off to the shop to get the exhaust put on it. The shop owner recommended Magna Flow mufflers with the x-pipe. Well, he's the expert and I liked the last exhaust I got from him, so I am following his recommendation.

I had lots of little things go wrong. But what did I expect! The car was stored in some old guys barn for years and the exhaust was original minus the replacement muffler.

One of the original exhaust manifolds was broken so I bought a set of used Thornton exhaust manifolds off Ebay. They weren't anywhere close to being flat and I had to have them surfaced. They are now on the car. The first set of manifold gaskets I bought didn't work out so well, I thought I would try a set of copper gaskets. They were crap so I went back with a set of Fel Pros. Much better.

I couldn't get one of the stock pipes hooked back up. The flange was a little off. And by little, I mean little. While adjusting the bolt opening the pipe broke at the muffler. So I had to get a truck to move the car to the shop.

Well, with any luck I'll being driving it home tonight. I can't wait to hear how the exhaust sounds. Wish me luck!

Oldzzy, are those Edelbrock heads on that motor? If so, how did you get around the fuel pump issue?

Wound up with flowmasters after all. And they sound great! The gentleman at the shop played around with the exhaust and decided the flowmasters did indeed, sound best with my particular application.

And he did a great job building a system I can remove in sections in order to make repairs to my old car.

You should see the hunk we took out of the passenger side on mine! I'll post it when I get home if I can remember that long. I hated that motor, it cost me a ton and had 350 hp to the crank. I'm no builder that's for sure!
