Heh, having fun with brackets? I had too. Had to alter them a bit due to inreased height of valve covers. And until realising with assembly manual at hand that theres spacers here and there...
I ended up buying 1/2" valve cover spacers, and glueing them to head + using studs on valve cover rail from now on. Pondered too about those very same valve covers you linked. Good to hear theyre of good quality.
Wrapping up the interior sound deadening and got the driveshaft delivered last night. Looks like its all the loose ends, wiring, plumbing, etc. and exhaust work. Can't wait!
Also, these gauges are sweet. You can configure them to switch from normal white light to show RED when items like temperature are not up to operating temperature so it yells at you to not go spirited before the car warms up, but also will flash RED when/if anything gets too hot (or oil pressure gets too low, etc.)
Plus they're just really nice and customizable - looks new but the same as the OEM gauge cluster from 1972. And they're electric full sweep.

What happened to the under dash CB radio? Did the seventies end?
All kidding aside awesome build. Any photos of the interior insulation install?

Haha, for real. My grandpa installed it back in the late 70s, and took it out sometime in the 90s. Kind of wish he didn't screw them into the dash like that but whatever, it's history, lol.
For some reason I don't think I took many photos of the interior portion but I know I have a few - I'll look for 'em!
Exhaust is almost completed. We are going to polish the stainless steel from the tips all the way to the back of the rear axle since that portion is visible.
Likewise. Many years in the making - as we all know with our planned projects. I'm excited this actually got to happen. Hopefully more to come in the next few weeks.
First start-up is always a great moment. The finishing details are what is left - hoping she is finally completed in a month or so (as long as no major issues arise, but with how much works been done to this car, it wouldn't be surprising).
Finishing touches and working out the kinks when basically replacing every mechanical part in a vehicle. Intake manifold was leaking a bit, easy fix there. Then realized the trans front seal (tw. converter) was leaking so we had to drop the trans to re-seal that... Which was fine because the custom aluminum driveshaft wasn't balanced perfectly after the first few test drives so that had to get sent back out for more work. Once that is back in my hands we'll be close!
