I have Edelbrock heads on my 350 so i know i can't use the mechanical fuel pump, but what are my options for electric ones?

Hey Shane,
Why can't you use a mech fuel pump? Is there something in the head design that will cause a clearance problem?

Yes Allan, the Edelbrock heads are BB heads and the fuel pump hits the head.

I think ah64pilot mentioned a Mallory 140 the other day. They are good pumps that work very well. I used one for a number of years with zero problems.

I've had lots of luck with the Mallory 110 or 140 if you mount and wire them correctly.

I have run a Holley HP-125 for several thousand miles with no problems, has a built in regulator, so it's perfect for a Q-Jet.

I run the Holley red pump. It doesn't need a regulator and pumps enough fuel for my car (11s at 118).

I guess i should've said that this car will be more street driven, with a couple trips to drag strip a year, in case that makes a difference.

If noise is a concern go with a Gerotor design. They are less noisy than traditional vane pumps. Holley 12-125 and 12-150 are Gerotor designs. I'm sure there are many other companies offering them too.

Mallory 110 or 140 will be fine just run a good filter in front of it and get the pickup as close as you can to the inlet. They don't like to pull but they will push all day long.

You did a great job on your car, it looks really badass.

I run a Carter Black pump but you would need a regulator as it makes about 18psi @ the carb. Flow rate isn't as good as the other mentioned above.

I have run Holley pumps on other cars, they are good pumps but the reason I went with a Carter on my car 25 years ago is because the fuel inlet and outlets are on top of the pump unlike Holley pumps. If you don't have a sump on your stock tank and you don't want to see all your fuel lines and filters from the back of the car, you might consider a Carter because it makes it easy to hide your fuel filter and lines from sight from behind the car.

I was wondering if there was any pumps that you can get, that you didn't see from behind.

You'd want an inline type pump to be out of sight. Can mount them right to the gas tank strap or the frame rail. Just remember they do better being gravity fed.

This Holley pump may be overkill but there are other inline brands. Just Google 'inline fuel pump'

Here's how I installed mine...it's a Holley blue for now and then I'm going to switch over to a Mallory 140 when my buddy wants his back.
