Okay, a '68-'76 350 block. The is no known meaning to the F3, general consensus (and I agree) is that it is simply a foundry casting revision identification. Same with the big blocks.

I believe that is just the form number for the block casting.
I have seen F0 all the way up to F12.

So is there any plan to remove the erroneous information from the Tech section (that was c&p from 442.com) saying that these numbers in some way indicate nickel content? Not trying to open a nickel content debate, but it seems the consensus is this number is meaningless to us, yet this information is still out there.

I thought I already did. Has it come back?

The FAQs on 442.com are a "dead" source, and should no longer be referred to. The Olds Wiki http://oldsmobilewiki.com/index.php/Category:Top_level is the place to go for more evolved and updated information. That information will stay on 442.com as long as the owner leaves it there. That doesn't mean it is correct. It does mean that you are looking in the wrong place!

I am aware of the status of 442.com. However, I was referring to information in the Tech section here at Classicoldsmobile.com, much of which originated at 442.com. For example: http://tech.classicoldsmobile.com/37.shtml

Perhaps the easiest solution is to point the Tech link at the Wiki.

That would make a lot more sense than trying to maintain multiple data bases.
