According to the '72 Dealer Specs book, yes. However, a buyer could have opted for the 2-bbl version of the 350 for a $33 reduction in price (option L32 below).

 

The base engine in the 1972 Cutlass Supreme (called the "standard" engine in the factory literature) was the L34 350 4bbl motor with 180 HP net. There were three optional engines, the L32 350 2bbl 160 HP, the L75 455 4bbl 250/270 HP, and the L77 455 4bbl 300 HP (that last one was only available in the Supreme convertible with the 442 W-30 or Hurst/Olds packages or in the Supreme Holiday Coupe with the Hurst/Olds package).

When you selected the L32 2bbl motor, you got a $33 credit.
