What was a 7028251 Quad used on? What's the CFM rating?
Will this be a good match for a '68 350,
~9:1 CR, edel performer 350 intake, with 350th auto,
non A/C with #5 heads (stock small valves), headers,
and a 2 1/2 inch X pipe exhaust.
I hope I gave enough info.
Thanks for any input.

Time for a question to show my ignorance. Are the tops of "all" 4 barrel carbs the same diameter? Will the air can/cleaner on a 4 barrel holley fit a 4 barrel quad / carter / rochester / etc ?

That QJet will be a 735 cfm unit. The 800 cfm didn't show up till the early 70s.
Given that you've opened up your exhaust, and that available fuel now is much different than it was in 1968 (both of which have effectively leaned out your engine) , I think that carb should work very well for your 350 since it is jetted for a big-inch engine.
The QJet and most later Edelbrock/Holley have the same 5-1/8" aircleaner base. Rochester 4GC's and some Carters have a smaller diameter opening.

Am I looking for trouble?
I have a 600 cfm Holley on an edel performer, on my 350.
I can pick this remaned, but "modified" Quad 7028251 pretty inexpesively.
The owner is using as his "test carb" on a build he is doing.
The fuel inlet is modified 90 degrees to the passenger side.
My car in a little inaccessible right now but, from old pics,
I cannot see any problem with having the inlet in this position.
I do not have a stock filter to carb steel fuel line, because of the Holley.
Is this a smart purchase?
Thanks.....

<Depends on the price.>
How about less than $110 shipped as pictured? I know I can buy a reman by Holley (model 64-7802) through Summit for between $250-275 shpping. 100% originality is not a huge concern for me.

The pictures aren't clear enough, but how can the inlet modified 90 degrees? It looks like a Chevy carb, BOPC inlets are straight in. If it is modified to be that way, is it a 90 adapter that can be removed? The "5" in the number is Olds.
Quadrajet would be a good carb for your app. You can modify and tune nearly any QJet for your needs. CFM doesn't matter.... They were designed to meet the needs of any GM engine whether small block or big block.
Don't worry about the fuel line. You can bend your own, or use an adapter to 3/8" rubber hose.

OK, Sorry for all the hassel.
More help please!
The 7028251 is a divorced choke carb. I have a Edelbrock Performer intake that does not support the d-choke.
Can I get a electric choke kit for this carb. I have looked on-line and cannot seem to get straight answer.
Some kit makers say "works on all quads" and other list a d-choke kit that requires the proper intake,
and other say no electric choke kit will work on a d-choke kit. If anyone knows a kit/manufacturer they would trust, please let me know.
Thanks again.

Scroll to the bottom, this will work. Don't use a gasket, it needs to be grounded to work. Seal off the vacuum port to the choke housing. Ruggles is a great source of knowledge. He will tell you exactly what parts you need for your application.
