a couple of months ago i had my carb rebuilt and put a pertronix 3 on my distributor.Everything was set right the timing and the car was perfect. then a couple of weeks ago i started to noticed that when i would put it on drive the car sounded like it wanted to stall.I'll give it some gas and then it would act ok.But lately it got worse now the car everytime its on drive it stalls to the point where i had to change the idle speed to keep it from dying.I changed the fuel filter just incase it was clogged up but no luck. checked for any vacuum leaks but nothing. any suggestions? I have a 1972 350 quadrajet

 

Not enough information to say, but it's easy enough to swap a set of points back in and see if it still does it.

Could be neither the carb nor the ignition, too.

I'd start with the simple things, 12vdc at coil, Choke first, timing, idle fuel adjustment, then idle speed setting.
