Car died while driving
Coming home this morning my car started to slowly shut off. I looked at my gas gauge and I was on empty. I ran out of gas, but thankfully coasted in a gas station. I was just short of the pump so I tried to start the car to see if I could make it to the pump. the car was almost dead and would barley turn over after shutting off. My volts on my gauge showed around 10-11. The battery was purchased in April and the alternator was new installed in August. They are from Napa and I have heard they can be bad from the get go or within a couple months. I am going to take the alternator and the battery in tomorrow and have them checked. Any idea what else it could be? Oh my kids tooted the horn a few times few days ago and every time I turned the steering wheel or even move it, it would honk it. I disconnected the horn at the horns but would still make a clicking noise. Do you think it's possible that the constant contact with the horn would cause it to slowly drain the battery while driving? I fixed the horn this evening so that isn't an issue anymore.

Huh?
What about leaving it in N and just pushing it to the pump?

oh yes they and and DO die after only a brief life. I had a battery die after one month- Sears "Die Hard"
Any idea what else it could be?

Many things - regulator.... Start by ruling out the battery and alternator, bearing in mind that new IS NOT the same as "works good"

A lot of that going around today

The clicking noise is the relay and you will want to fix the issue within the steering column.
Do you think it's possible that the constant contact with the horn would cause it to slowly drain the battery while driving?

While driving? Not bloody likely. The alternator should put out enough to run all loads and keep the battery charged.
I fixed the horn this evening so that isn't an issue anymore.
====================
unplugging the horn wires is not exactly a "fix" - it's a workaround to stop the horn for a while.
Suppose you were to add some details to flesh out this story- year, model, modifications....

You either have a charging or a bad/corroded connection issue. Make sure your battery terminal connections are clean and shiny, with a voltmeter make sure your battery is charging with the engine running. If not then get the alternator and voltage regulator tested.
